Most lateral files are just storage, but this used Steelcase 900 Series unit has a bit more flexibility. It has mounting holes on the top and the left side, which gives you the option of attaching compatible components if you’re building out a workstation. If you just want a good cabinet, it works fine on its own, too.
It has 3 drawers in a 36"W x 18"D footprint, enough room for a lot of folders without taking over the space. Every drawer has file bars, so hanging folders stay straight and easy to flip through instead of sliding around. A lock is included for sensitive paperwork, and if you want a spare, keys are available separately for $29 per set.
The finish is warm white (eggshell), a soft, bright tone that keeps a room feeling open and goes well with both light and dark furniture.
